While responding to the Happy Birthday wishes on my Facebook, I decided to “love” each of them as opposed to simply “liking” them. At first glance, it might seem weird to have all those heart emojis. But it feels like we could use a lot more love out there, especially in the fetid swamps of social media.
So love it is then. Heart emojis for everyone!
One takes the achievements where one can. So, I’m proud of myself for at least getting to the gym today, even if I didn’t end up doing much writing today.
I’ve got a piece of paper left over from one of my reporter’s notebooks from who knows how long ago. There are a handful of sentences written on it, possible first sentences or ideas to spawn bigger things. One of them appears in modified form at the top of this website. Maybe it’s time I use these for inspiration…
But today’s other blogging option is writing about resolutions, and Lord knows I’ve done that too many times.

Here’s a simple thank you to all the mothers I know or have known. A heartfelt “we miss you” to those no longer here. And a wish for you all to be appreciated not just today, but everyday.
