I don’t remember how old I was, but there’s a recording of me reading from the newspaper when I was a little kid.

So, yeah, newspapers have been a thing for me pretty much my whole life, no matter how many times I tried to avoid them.

I even went back to school to get a degree in something other than journalism. The full-time job I finally found after getting that degree?

Yep. Newspaper.

So why not embrace it, right? Or, you know, move on to greener pastures.

I’ve worked a range of beats in over 16 years in the journalism business: cops, courts, government of all levels, and a variety of sports. I also have lots of experience in copy editing and page layout.

I’m also a web designer and social media aficionado who directed efforts in those areas for the Indiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
