IU basketball’s two leaders could have a busy summer ahead of them. Senior Will Sheehey and sophomore Yogi Ferrell are among 29 college players invited to the 2013 USA Basketball Men’s World University Games Team training camp, June 24-30 in Colorado Springs.

The camp will determine the roster for the World University Games to be held in Kazan, Russia, July 6-17. The roster includes Purdue’s AJ Hammons and Notre Dame’s Eric Atkins and Jerian Grant.

Eight Hoosiers have played in the Games: Tom and Dick Van Arsdale (1965), George McGinnis (1970), Quinn Buckner (1974), Lyndon Jones (1989), Eric Anderson and Calbert Cheaney (1991) and Brian Evans (1995).

Also on Monday, after teasing a big announcement with a couple videos over the past few weeks, IU’s football program released a video showcasing new helmets for the 2013 season. Obviously the chrome one is getting a lot of attention on Twitter, but I think the helmet with the state insignia on it is pretty cool myself. Will be interesting to see which helmets get worn in which games, but if the Hoosiers don’t wear the state flag helmet against Purdue …
