The week in review (Nov. 15, 2015)

Call it a way to keep track of my work. Call it an easy blog post. Whatever.
I call it my week in review.

THANK YOU, VETERANS
On the news side of things, I covered a couple of Veterans Day events. On Tuesday, Capt. Holly Everette spoke at Shelbyville Middle School about her experiences while in Afghanistan, and on Wednesday, Shelbyville High School teacher Al Parsons was the keynote speaker for a Veterans Day event.
And the second week of the month means meetings, meetings, meetings.

BUSY TIME OF YEAR
When you’re covering college football and college basketball, November is the busiest month of the year. Well, I suppose December might be busy for some beat writers, but IU hasn’t been to a bowl game since I’ve been covering them, so …
Anyway, on the basketball side, I covered the Hoosiers’ second exhibition game and regular-season opener, with season previews for The Terre Haute Tribune-Star and The Shelbyville News sandwiched in between. On the football side, IU’s final home game of the season was a double-overtime loss to Michigan which puts IU’s bowl hopes in danger.
Will I make the trip to West Lafayette on Nov. 28 for the Old Oaken Bucket game? Only time will tell.

Share your words of wisdom.
