Here’s what I wrote last night for the Post-Tribune and the Tribune-Star.
Obviously the main focus for both stories is that IU reached 20 wins for the first time under Tom Crean. History would indicate that the Hoosiers are all but guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament now.
Of course, nothing’s guaranteed until Selection Sunday, and Crean knows that. “There are a lot of teams this year that will get 20 wins, but that doesn’t guarantee anything and we know that,” he said.
Still, IU’s resume — wins over the then No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country, 20 wins — all but assure the Hoosiers a spot in the field of 68. And a victory Sunday at Iowa would ensure that the Hoosiers finish with at least a .500 record in the Big Ten.
