I suppose it’s a ridiculous notion to use a typewriter as the featured image of this page as we head out of 2025. But that’s what I did.
Here you’ll find links to some of my work that I hold in particular esteem. Some I wrote for this website, some (still to be uploaded as I write this on Nov. 20, 2025) are from the paid jobs over the years. Few, if any, of the newspapers I wrote for still have archived versions of my stories; heck, some of those newspapers don’t even exist anymore.
ESSAYS
“Dad” is my attempt to write something about my father in the months after he passed away. It’s a piece I need to revisit, if only to find a way to better tell his story. For now, this is it.
Weirdly, it was easier to write about our cat, Jules, after we had to put her down just a few weeks after my dad died.
After writing about our trip to Paris, I had a notion of doing something similar after our vacations to Hawaii and Canada and Sint Maarten and Barbados. It hasn’t happened… yet. /insert fingers crossed emoji here.
